Fire Safety

We had a visit from the Falmouth Fire Department on October 8th.  They talked about fire safety at home.  They talked about how important it is to have a meeting place outside.  One of the fire fighters put on his fire safety equipment to show us what a fire fighter looks like in his equipment.  

After our visit inside with 2 fire fighters inside, we went outside and had a chance to take a close look at a fire engine and an ambulance   

For homework that night, children counted the number of smoke detectors and made a note as to where they were.  They also had to talk to their families about their meeting place and drew a map of where it is.  At school, children shared their homework with the class.
